LONDON & TEWKESBURY, UK – Sept. 8, 2009 – EMS Global Tracking, a division of EMS Technologies, Inc., today unveiled its combined suite of tracking and personnel recovery systems at the Defense Systems and Equipment International Conference (DSEi).  The division, formerly the Tracking and Messaging, and Search and Rescue (SAR) business units of EMS SATCOM, and the recently acquired Satamatics, have combined forces to offer a broad range of solutions to both military and civilian markets.

“As a larger functional group with a more expansive portfolio of products, and new capabilities, EMS Global Tracking is a thriving, well-backed organization taking a lead role as a first tier supplier,” says Dino Koutrouki, the new division’s general manager. “We are leveraging our market-leading products to focus on providing our customers with complete solutions that include airtime, advanced applications, and superior support.”
The division’s senior management team is distributed between its offices in Tewkesbury, and Ottawa, Ontario. Koutrouki will lead a talented international management team that includes Steven Edgett, vice president of business development and strategy; John McQueen, commercial sales director; Stephane Momy, government and security sales director; Phil Wilkinson, director of operations, and Richard Smith, head of engineering.  Edgett previously led the company’s SAR business, which is a worldwide leader in Cospas-Sarsat satellite constellation ground segment systems.  EMS Global Tracking’s key personnel possess more than a century of experience in the commercial satellite communications industry.

The new division offers global tracking and messaging solutions for force-tracking, low-data rate and machine-to-machine (M2M) tracking for NGOs, maritime users, search-and-rescue and personnel recovery systems for civilian and military applications.  The systems operate over a number of satellite constellations, including Inmarsat, Iridium, SkyTerra, and Cospas-Sarsat.  EMS Global Tracking systems offer users a variety of options that will meet specific requirements.

“Our experienced multi-disciplinary team offers a breadth of commercial capabilities,” notes Edgett. “We are well-positioned to bring to market quickly new products that enable reliable  tracking, alerting and messaging in some of the world’s most remote and difficult environments.”
